The last day of school for us was Friday, May 28th-the same day G&G Henwood came to visit for a week! We figured we may as well keep going full tilt-why slow down just because school is out?!! It was a jam-packed week of fun...and so that we don't forget the craziness I thought I would list our outings...
Friday-G&G Henwood arrive at 10:30pm-we stay up WAY too late opening presents and visiting!
Saturday-slept in, went to the mall, Springville Museum of Art (the kids enjoyed it way more than I expected) and then out to dinner at Cracker Barrel (Our long-standing tradition to do at the beginning of the school year and then again at the end-the kids have always picked Cracker Barrel.)
Sunday-slept in, church, went for a long walk, watched "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs", visited with friends in the Park, s'mores in the fire pit at home.
Monday-up early to Hike the "Y" (Mom and Gma didn't go all the way up-I got a new inhaler on Friday and FORGOT it!!!-I was SO bummed!!-so Gma and I rested at turn 5), we did some much needed yard work for a little bit when we got back and then got ready to go to G&G Livingstone's for a Memorial Day BBQ. Grandpa invited his band and their families-it was fun to watch and listen...and eat. We stayed for several hours, ate yummy food and played a little baseball then went home to watch Avatar.
Tuesday- took the kids to the Credit Union to get their"dollars for A's" and the Library to pick out books. (Dad worked mornings and played with us in the afternoons!) After lunch we headed up to Bluffdale to get Dad and on to SLC to go to Discovery Gateway. DG is a great little place-just too young for our kids-but we had free passes so it was fun to check it out. We had a milkshake break at the Gateway Starbucks and then headed over to Temple Square. We saw the new temple exhibit, talked with several missionaries and enjoyed being there...until about 5pm when things went VERY bad!!! Let's just say the stomach flu hit me with a vengeance! I won't go into details-but it wasn't pretty! I have NEVER been so violently ill in my whole life!
Wednesday-needless to say Mom did not get out of bed! Dad got home at lunch and took G&G out shopping while the kids went to their Wednesday movie at the Scera with my sweet neighbor! We had planned to go to Classic Skating (free-passes) where they turn into a bounce house on Wednesdays-but that was put off until next week. We were supposed to go out to eat in SLC but of course didn't so everyone (except Mom) went to Café Rio for dinner.
Thursday-Mom doing much better! Slow morning-off to BYU in the afternoon. We visited the Museum of Art for a bit before going to the HFAC to see "Mysteries of Monster Grove" a new play. We of course went to the Bookstore and spent way too long picking out candy. Mom was pooped so we ordered pizza for dinner. Watched "Where the Wild Things Are".
Friday-We celebrated "National Donut Day" at Krispy Kreme! Free donuts for everyone! We also found out that the kids can take there report card there too and get "donut's for A's"-up to 6 each-every term!!! We had an early 14th birthday for Jace so that G&G Henwood could watch him open the presents they brought for him-so we made a cake, then Mom and Grandma went shopping for a bit and then came back to decorated the cake. In the afternoon Mom wasn't feeling so great again (did NOT eat a donut-or much at all the last few days) so Dad and G&G Henwood took the kids to Trafalga to min-golf (free-passes again)! Emma came home-before they even started-feeling sick! "Here we go", I thought! Thankfully she had a good 4 hour 'nap' and was pretty lethargic the rest of the day, but got feeling better quickly. The boys watched "Iron Man" and Tanner finally played his drums for G&G Henwood!
Saturday-we did nothing-it was nice. Dad left to take G&G to the airport around 3pm and Mom cleaned up and did laundry the rest of the day.
It was a great time...now we can slow down...
We always have fun with G&G Henwood-and will do it all again when we fly out to Portland this year for Christmas!
As I have gone through some of our pictures of the last 6 months I have realized that I will probably never catch up- I might try- we'll see...
Here are just a sample-not in order- of the MANY pictures we took this week! :)
Somehow this is how all of our pictures turn out!

So happy to see an update!
Sounds like quite the week. You really squeezed EVERYTHING (including illness) in! Glad you're feeling better and had a fun time with Ben's parents.
I totally didn't see you on my scroll until now! Glad you are feeling better, that was the worst. Your pics are all so cute. Love you!
