Before and After

So Lauren came home the day before yesterday really wanting her hair cut short. I put her off for a day to see if she would change her mind or bring it up again and she reminded me all morning that after school she wanted her hair cut short. She came home from school doing the same-so here's Lauren!

Of course Emma wanted in on the action-so here's Emma!

Fire!

A couple of weekends ago we bought a little fire pit to put in the yard. The kids have loved discovering their pyromaniac selves! We have already used it several times and love it. Here is the latest from last night!

Lauren downsizes by two wheels!

Just yesterday Halle came busting into the house at 8:30am to inform us she could ride her two wheeler! She was so excited-I hadn't noticed she had run up to Ben's office twice to tell him to come watch. So after breakfast on the way out the door for school the kids and I watched Halle show us her skills! Of course Emma wanted to try too-nothing like positive peer pressure-and then Lauren hopped on the bike we had taken the training wheels off of during FHE outside that evening and off she went!

Friends can do what moms cannot!

Meeting Stephenie Meyer...and 1000 others!

Last Friday Mindy and I went to the Stephenie Meyer book signing for "The Host". It was so great! I have loved reading again because of her. Her books read so quickly (even though they are 600+ pages) and are extremely captivating! This is Mindy and I sitting at her signing table! We snuck up on stage to take some pictures. There are more pics on Mindy and John's blog...but I pretty much look like an overgrown deer in the headlights (I had been at PTA convention all day and the day before from 8am-5pm and was pooped) so I will not be posting any others! We loved being there with other fans and chit chatting til 10pm. Love you Mind!

Hiking the Y

Ben, Mike and Jace joined the YM/YW last week to 'hike the Y'! The weather cooperated and they had a great evening and Jace didn't even get lost! (The picture that looks like nothing is the 'Y profile' as it lays on the mountain.

Happy Mother's Day!

This year Mother's Day came early! I got to go to BYU's Women's Conference for 2 days and had a fabulous time listening to wonderful talks and inspirational messages! I LOVED it! (We really ought to do it one year for our girls' retreat!) After President Monson's message Friday, Ben picked me up. He had made reservations at Chef's Table for dinner. We had a DELICIOUS time! Our friend Kent is the 4-star chef/owner there. It was fun to chat with him and relax and eat DELICIOUS food! While I had left to go to the bathroom before we were served I came back to a little blue box beside my plate. Ben had bought me some very sparkly earrings we had tried to find for some time. I was so excited. What a surprise! The next day we finally made a fire pit area in the yard and have enjoyed roasting various things...another thing I should take pictures of! The next weekend, the actual Mother's Day weekend, was so crazy busy I was glad to get spoiled the week before! Friday was our big PTA carnival fundraiser...I guess I should have taken some pictures...the kids had a great time on the rides and winning prizes playing games. Ben and I had been asked to speak in church on Mother's Day. It was also my week to do sharing time and conduct in Primary! Saturday, I should mention was our annual HOA breakfast/meeting! That doesn't mean anything to any of you-but ours become somewhat stressful shall we say-this one inparticular. Well, I got breakfast in bed- YUMMY strawberry crepes!!! Ben has gotten so good at making them over the years! Then we had a great time getting together at Barclay's to give Grandma Livingstone her presents.

I have such wonderful Mothers who I just love so much! Love you! Love you!
(I'll try to remember to take some pictures.)

I didn't even take this picture-but here is one of us girls out for lunch for Mindy's birthday! We are going to see Stephanie Meyer Friday evening!!! Very exciting!!!

Here's.....EMMA!!!

As I saw everybody else's new posts I figured I had better get on it. So here are a couple recent pictures of Emma's ever puzzling outfits she puts together. I really should record them better. Notice the additional "pretty hairs" (embellishments) added to the socks! As most of you can attest this is a pretty low key outfit for Emma!

Playing FHE games outside...Emma having a meltdown because she got 'out' playing Simon Says!
