Pumpkin Carving Craziness!

Today was the annual Soup and Scoop night at Grandma and Grandpa Livingstone's. I think this is the 4th or 5th time we have held this goopy soupy event. Everyone made such great soups and the pumpkins all turned out great. I think everyone would agree that Spencer is the King of Carving - his pumpkins turned out totally cool. Jace made a devil, tanner made a skeleton, Lauren made some silly faces, Emma made an owl, and we also made a few silly faces just for fun. Tanner's Hallowbirthday Extravaganza!!!

OK. So we were a little slow to have a birthday party for Tanner. So his party for his birthday, nearly a month later, became a Halloween themed party. We took everyone to Pumpkin land, had some ghoulish games and ate some frightening brownies and ice cream. We had fun with the "cake" and added some special effects.

You can see that the "cake" had some rather cool fog coming out of it - all of the kids thought this was great. (We thought it was rather fun ourselves.) the brownies mysteriously disappeared and we were left only with the fog.


At Pumpkin Land they had a corn maze - in which was a secret gourd room that only Lauren and Ben were able to find - everyone else was very jealous. Lauren really hammed it up for the picture. Good times for everyone!!!

Death by Tile

A local Orem woman died unexpectedly in her kitchen after laying over 300 slate tiles. Experts are unsure why she died, but her husband said "It must have been that last tile she installed. What a shame, the floor looks great."


Actually, Patti's death is greatly exaggerated. She did however lay over 300 slate tiles in the kitchen and the hallway in less than three days. She could not have done it without the help of her wonderful, loving, hardworking husband who generously handed her tiles when she needed them. The floor is looing good and we hope to have it cleaned, grouted and sealed by next weekend.


In other news, the Henwood's finally have a working kitchen sink - I can not tell you how exciting this is!!!

Emma and Halle

Since we moved into our new home we have a new child in our family. Her name is Halle Miller. She actually lives across the street, but Halle spends so much time playing with Emma and Lauren at our house we think of her as one of our own. She frequently eats with us and is a regular in our home. It has been great that Emma has such a good friend to play with.

Tanner Gets Baptized

On Saturday, October 7th Tanner was baptized and confirmed by his father a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was a wonderful baptism and a special event in Tanner's life. Thanks to everyone who came to support Tanner - we were especially blessed to have Grandma Henwood come all the way from Portland, Oregon, to attend the baptism. We sure missed having the Curtis, Livingstone, Hunt and the rest of the Henwood families at the Baptism.


To celebrate Tanner's baptism we tortured our children by attempting to take some family photos for our Christmas letter. (OK, maybe we really tortured ourselves.) Hopefully we got a good one– you will have to wait for our Christmas letter to see. Tanner then decided that we should eat out at Artic Circle for dinner - it was his choice. The kids were very excited to get square pumpkins with flashlights, and they may have actually had something to eat as well. The children had a great time with Grandma Henwood and will miss her as she returns to Portland today.
